The pilot was approved to fly the Cessna S550 single-pole aircraft on December 15, 2024, discussing “if he had to perform the missed approach, he had performed alternative airport weather conditions with the controller.”

Weather conditions at the marine company Miramar (NKS), about four miles north of the airport, are described as calm winds, visibility and 200 feet of 200 feet of ceiling.

The pilot allegedly said he would notify the Southern California terminal’s radar pathway to control its choice of alternative airports, but did not do so in the remaining aircraft.
