Openai Partnerships with the US government to provide its main limit models to federal employees. Under the agreement, federal agencies can access Openai’s models for $ 1 for next year, for Wednesday’s announcement of the company and the General Services Administration (GSA).

On Tuesday, GSA has announced that it is adding three new AI models – Antropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini and Openai’s Chatgpt – to its federal purchase list, opening the door for government agencies to use these tools. The move was framed as to move on Trump’s AI -ADI Planwho called for speeding up in the United States.
The same day, Openai launched two Open heavy models– The first such edition of the company since 2019. The models can operate locally and set for specific use cases, perhaps allowing Openai to partner with government agencies that require high levels of data security.

US AI giants have shown a growing interest in working with the US government in recent months. Altman was standing next to the president as he announced the new business at the White House. In May, Altman and other AI -executives also accompanied Trump about A trip to the Middle Eastwhere they announced a number of trade agreements apparently designed for further US foreign political interests.
Government agencies have huge amounts of data that could possibly be valuable for AI companies. (Openai says that Chatgpt will not use interactions with federal employees as training data.) US government departments seeking to modernize their operations may see generative AI as a way to update systems and improve efficiencies. Also agencies such as the Defense Department are huge possible customers. Trump’s proposed budget for the defense department for the fiscal year 2026 is a $ 1.01 billion, 13.4 percent growth.
