Norman told Fox News Digital Wednesday that he hopes the South Carolina Convention will remake its regional line, which he believes is more consistent with the Republican majority in the state Legislature and state Senate.
“We have Republican supermagazines in South Carolina. Let’s use them to create more competition in congressional seats. There’s no doubt that Republicans can succeed in every part of our state.”
Norman, who Run for governorSay that will make the South Carolina House seat “more competitive” and “moving our House delegation from 6-1 to 7-0.”

“This will help increase Republican control over Congress and help President Trump pass his agenda. Each vote involves conservative Speaker Mike Johnson, not Liberal Speaker Hakeem Jeffries in New York City.”
Although he did not provide more details about the appearance of the map he wished it would look, he did mention the lonely Democrat, longtime Rep. Jim Cleburn (DC)
“Jim Clyburn is a good guy, and I respect him. But he’s a liberal and he helped Joe Biden in the White House,” Norman said. “This is not a South Carolina representative.”
Claiborne is indeed a close ally of the former president Joe Biden. His support is crucial for Biden to win the 2020 Democratic primary in South Carolina, a victory that determines Biden’s pre-crowded race.
Since 1993, he has also represented South Carolina’s sixth Congressional District.

The Sixth Congressional District was first eliminated to provide a larger representation of Black South Carolina in the early 1990s, resulting in the only majority black area in the state.
However, in recent years, there have been some partisan battles in South Carolina’s congressional map.
In 2024 U.S. Supreme Court overturns The lower court ruled that the Republican-led district line unfairly diluted black voters’ power, mainly in South Carolina’s first congressional district, neighbor Clayburn.
The conservative majority in the High Court ruled 6-3 that the area was ruled along partisan lines rather than racial and therefore could be legally maintained.
Traditionally, rezoning is done after the U.S. census (which is done every decade) to explain demographic changes in individual states.

Norman calls for a new line refresh after Texas Republicans pushed for the creation of a new congressional map that would allow Republicans to offer up to five new seats in the House.
This sparked political fires across the country, with free countries such as New York and California pledging to follow suit.
Potential reordering areas are now also discussed in several states.
