“It’s Friday, Friday. Get off on Friday.” The lyrics of Rebecca Black’s 2011 Virus Breakup single “Friday” are still playing in our minds. Fourteen years later, the track is still on the way, so it is not surprising this month that it officially accepted the continued flavors of Bombay Sapphire, such as the taste of Black and its Blackling Lemon Cocktail. Aside from the nostalgia of the mixed version, this bright and citrus-like drink perfectly encapsulates the carefree weekends that Californians sing years ago.
Yes, “Friday” is back, but so is Black herself due to her new EP salvation. With this version, the artist is her true self-repressed, and finally ready to share all of her versions with the pop songs, such as the title tracks “Salvation” and “Sugar Water Cyanide”. The lyrics she has the most confident in her, the compelling visualizer and the same gorgeous fashion aesthetic to match her most confident in black. Our weekend playlists get better.
Congratulations on the release salvationHow does this EP reflect you as an artist and an individual now?
Thank you! salvation For me, it was a creative evolutionary moment. Over the past few years, I have indeed devoted myself to artistic energy to learn how to get better with my intuition and how to trust myself more in my creative process. Each song ends up learning in this way that makes my guard symbolize the way others see me. Over the years, I’ve been really nervous, afraid to fall into a mistake out of fear of being criticized, but salvation It’s all about embracing the fluidity of who I am and all versions of myself, not just trying to be perfect in the eyes of everyone else.
Do you want this project to suit your fans?
This project is a celebration of oneself. I really found my confidence in my voice and hope that anyone can find the same confidence on their own.
Is there a track salvation Does this really represent your moment?
I do think the title track takes advantage of the spirit of the project, so why it is called “redemption”. And, “Cyanide Sugar” does feel like the moment between me and the audience Directly I’ve always wanted to do this in each other this way. I know we wrote the second time and my people will get it. I’m not sure everyone around me feels the same, but it’s one of the intuitive moments I have to follow.
What would you say about the fashion atmosphere or aesthetics of this EP?
It’s all about fancy delusions, grandeur, fur, rubbish and irony.
You just started a journey of saving the world. What is this performance you are most excited to show your fans?
I’m glad to bring the world salvation Going to the stage, especially in all songs that haven’t had visual effects yet, like “American Doll” and “Twist the Knife”. It was indeed a dramatic performance.
Do you have a favorite travel look?
Brody designed this custom decorative jacket for me salvation World tchotchkes. It’s crazy fab, Brody is my favorite designer with whom my designer DOT and I have in this era.
Who is your biggest music/pop influence as you continue to grow and reinvent your artist?
I’m always inspired by those who push the boundaries of pop music. Gaga, Madonna, Bowie, Prince, Gwen-I always watch them in the way they build the world on scenes and stages, even just walking on the streets. That’s the essence of the pop star I found most excited.
We are curious about your current idea of the popular state. It feels like we are in this really exciting time when women are embracing their sexual behavior and celebrating their own chaos.
I’m glad to see pop music, but I always feel pop music is a timeless, innate entity. From the state of the world, it makes sense for the audience to see artists who like to acknowledge the world around them and interact with authenticity (whether reckless or rebellious). I always thought pop was the funniest and when it turned itself to the mind, I think that’s what makes all the girls we love so powerful. They are not afraid and have total control over their POV, which leads to real good art.
You do see it all in the hard aspects of navigating this industry. What was your biggest study this time?
I still learn every day, but in reality, if I learn one thing, that’s the importance of intuition, and when your intuition tells you, your voice is used. My only regret is spawning from the moment I make myself believe others know the best. (This is) It is not to say that I do not accept feedback or criticism. This is also very important in the collaborative world I live in, but I know when and how to make a decision for myself. …even if it made me a mistake, it allowed me to learn from it in a completely new way.

“Friday” is a song that launched your pop career in 2011, but it is also a source of your criticism and trauma towards you. What is your current relationship with singles over the past fourteen years?
I no longer escape what it means to me. This is by no means something I don’t exist, nor is it that I am who I am. But frankly, I feel that because I also know that this will never be the most interesting thing about the art I have created. That’s my faith in what I’m doing now and where I’m going to be.
You are working with Mumbai Sapphire for a taste like “Friday” in Miami, just like Friday’s campaign. Can you tell us something about the project?
Working with Mumbai Sapphire and enjoying flavors like Fridays, it feels great. The lemons in Mumbai sapphire bubbles are basically that kind of drinking, “weekend” energy taste, and that’s all the point of the sport. Why does it feel like Friday to wait? DJ settings in Miami are designed to celebrate this by bringing the bright, citrus energy of wine lemons to life in the best way. Even on Thursday, the atmosphere on Friday is unstoppable. Of course, we had to remix “Friday”, but this time, it’s sparkling (literally).
