Reddit users who claim to be an airline employee warned travelers about the possibility of being cheated on printed bag labels.
The news was posted on the “R/Delta” forum on Reddit, titled “Top your schoolbag tag at home.”
Reddit users claim to be “baggage claim manager”. Personally, I want to “let everyone know, please start throwing away your luggage tags at home.”

User claims: “We are filing fraudulent claims as these people are observing who removes their luggage tags in the claims area and using your information to submit claims for reimbursement.”
The post continues: “Based on my own personal experience, this is currently being processed and if they make a legal claim, it will lead to issues of compensation for the real person.”

“So be careful, don’t Airport,” The person came to the conclusion. “They can steal enough information from it to get paid using your trip.”
Many flight passengers participated in the comment section to debate whether it was possible – sharing their own ideas.

Another Reddit said: “Because my full name is on it, I kept discarding them at home.”

The original poster jointly believes that others can Scam passenger.
“The luggage tag consists of only names, flights and confirmation numbers outside the tag itself,” the person wrote. “They use the person’s name, random phone number and a random address to make an email address and then submit a claim.”
Gary Leff, Texas Tourism experts And told Fox News Digital that he did not see scams being common.

“You should fix your luggage tags to any luggage problem completely and then discard them at home,” Leff said.
“That is, this doesn’t make me a big batch of ordinary scams.”

Leff said the tag carries limited information such as last name, flight number and specific bag tag numbers.
He pointed out that the tag usually has no ticket number or street address.
