“They are older members and they kind of laughed at us with the idea of ‘who will arrest grandma?’ to arrest them?’ Democrats are a little smart,” he said.

Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows signed an arrest warrant for absentee Democrats after he approved such arrest warrants Monday in the state legislature, with Greg Abbott calling on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest “criminal Texas Democrats.” Warrants are largely considered symbolic because they only apply to warrants within the national line.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) reported Thursday that the FBI agreed to his request to help help locate the whereabouts of abandoned lawmakers as Republicans struggle to reach a quorum on Democratic returns.
