“We will fight them politically. We will fight them governmentally. We will fight them in court. We will fight them in winning the hearts of people in Texas and beyond,” Jeffries said in a press conference in Austin last week.
Jeffries said that while companies and universities are aligned with Trump, “Texas Democrats won’t bend over.”
Redistribution battles in key battlefield states
Rep. Lizzie Fletcher, Democrat of Texas, stood with Jeffries, warning that redistribution efforts like the Lone Star state could spread nationwide as part of a broader drive Republicans strength.
“People across the country are watching what we do in Texas,” Fletcher said.
