
U.S. riot police and protesters clashed in downtown Los Angeles, where federal immigrants reportedly attacked the city and dozens of people were reportedly detained.
A spokesperson for the Homeland Security Investigation told the Los Angeles Times that federal agents are executing search warrants related to the country’s illegal hiding of people.
Security forces lined up and waved batons, appearing tear gas rifles as authorities ordered the crowd to spread during dusk. On Friday, antenna video showed armed immigration officials using unmarked vans to detain multiple people as crowds.
A Los Angeles police spokesman said police at the scene of the protest declared an illegal parliament, meaning those who failed to leave the area were arrested.
