Low cut Connie, a PhiladelphiaThe political-based rock band claimed that scheduled performances at this week’s festival were cancelled.
Host Adam Weiner posted a message to fans on social media Monday that the band was pulled from the “Rock River” Festival in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
“My show was cancelled for the first time ever,” Weiner wrote on the band’s Facebook page. “The promoters of Lucerne County, Pennsylvania believe that Wilkes-Barre’s low Connie performance this weekend will be too controversial and polarized — Connie’s performance is exactly the opposite!”
The annual summer concert series is advertised as a free event for all ages. The AC/DC cover band has replaced the July 25 lineup.

In the video message, the musician called the county’s decision “so disappointing and frustrating.”
“Why did they cancel the show?” He asked. “They won’t tell us, but they said they canceled my show for political reasons. Now, let me give you a little background. If you’ve been to the low Connie show, you know on stage, I’ll talk about diversity.”
Weiner said he believes diversity is one of the strengths of the United States and he will not “apologize” for using these terms.
“People don’t like the word, but I’ll keep using it because everyone is welcomed in the low Connie show. “Diversity” and “Inclusion” shouldn’t be swear words.”

Weiner also suggested that the band’s protest song “Livin’ in the United States” could be included in the decision.
The song, released in May, introduces “Horror, uneasy, worrying that so many people are now experiencing in the United States.”
“Because these ice (immigration and customs enforcement) attacks are absolutely inhumane and anti-American,” Weiner said.
He called the show’s initiator’s decision to cancel the show “cowardly.”

“We could have had a beautiful show this Friday,” he said, before comparing his experience with those of late night host Stephen Colbert’s. Performance cancelled last week. Colbert is a vocal advancement.
“Principles like me, like Stephen Colbert, artists like me are losing their jobs,” he said.
A Lucerne County spokesman told Fox News Numbers“Our goal is to have a place where you can enjoy music, food, promote community, have fun, and have no politics and publicity.”
Connie also quits scheduled Kennedy Center Show in March protest President Donald Trump’s takeover of the venue.
