Roku has still to disappoint me. Where other brands change formal factors, interfaces and product support with what can be felt as an alarming regularity even for initials like me, Roku, with its rounded square interface, pleasantly rubber remote controllers, and gladly simple plugin, have a design, held the course.
When the new Roku Streaming Stick Plus arrived at my house, it felt it was 2012 again. That Obama-era Teocniko optimism will remember when social media was to the right of history? -Is are still evident. There are no huge annoying ads on everything in the menus, it is not unpleasant to like or subscribe to any proprietary data funnel or other. Instead, you only get a decent processor, a USB cable for power, and a remote control, which now has four fast buttons for programs that you may actually subscribe -as SlingtV ever has a dedicated place on Roku -I will never know.
Quality-wise, this 4K -Streaming -ap Offers everything you could realistically need without buying a disk toy and start a 4K-ray collection. If you have $ 40 to save and slow TV, just buy one already.

There was once a time when stick-based players like this, which is the size and shape of an old school USB thumb, could cause strange mounting problems depending on whether a television manufacturer put their HDMI ports somewhere that had an actual meaning. The remote control is with what you will interact with most, and it is fantastic as usual, an inclement pill shape with known buttons that feel like high quality pencil waste. It’s a completely standard Roku prices at this point, until you realize that the programs listed for fast access in the bottom are actually good now: Disney+, Apple TV, Netflix and Amazon.
Now included at this level of Roku (previously it was only available on more expensive models) is the voice remote functionality, allowing you to use the microphone in the remote control to look for your favorite shows and movies. It is a shockingly decent tool, if you are not sure where to flow something specific, and one that is useful for me a few times a year when I have a hankering for a specific holiday movie or another.

It’s really easy to log in to any app you subscribe to, and also easily rearrange the tiles on the home screen, so you don’t have to see things you don’t use. Configuration, including signing in WiFi and installing fast software update, took about 10 minutes.
