Washington, 73, was eliminated after his last week of shortness of breath at the end of the Angels Series New York Yankees This ended on June 19th.
After the series, Washington flew back to Southern California and was on sick leave after a series of tests. Washington is currently the oldest manager in the Major League Baseball.

“We are starting to see the personality of the team with (Ron Washington) personality,” Angel General Manager Perry Minasian said in a statement. “There is some resilience, there is some resilience, and that’s exactly what Ron is.
“(The players) will go there every day and day, working as hard as they were at Ron.”
Angels backup coach Ray Montgomery was appointed interim manager when he was initially appointed to take sick leave.

Washington was hired by Angels before the 2024 season, 103-140 in 243 games with the team. He is Texas Rangers In eight seasons (2007-2014), they had a record of 664-611.
