Photoshop for Android is here
Adobe finally released Photoshop for Android. No, this is not Photoshop Express or Photoshop Touch – anticipated, mostly unsuccessful attempts to bring Photoshop to a cellphone. Photoshop for Android mirrors the Photoshop version for iPhone published earlier this year. You can download the Public beta for Android Today.
The mobile app has just about everything you will find in the desktop version of Adobe, including layer-based editing and tools like masks, clone postage, smart selection options and all tonal and curved adjustment tools. The user interface is radically different, but Photoshop -veterans will probably hang the mobile version quickly.
I’ve been testing the Android app for a few days, and it’s pretty impressive, but some things are missing. The greatest for me is the ability to harvest with pixels rather than a ratio, which seems a very strange limitation. Content-conscious filling is also “soon”. Adobe has greatly presented the AI functions, which makes it possible to make smart choices that would be difficult otherwise.
