Senator Padilla wants people to feel “angry” after they are removed from Norm’s press conference

California Senator Alex Padilla hopes people will feel he is Forced deletion At a press conference Thursday with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Video of the incident shows Padilla trying to walk to Noem while speaking on the podium during a Los Angeles conference. Padilla also tries to yell at Noem, but law enforcement step in and forcibly stop Padilla’s progress.

The video shows Padilla eventually was taken to the ground and handcuffed. Afterwards, he made emotional remarks to the reporter.

Padilla told MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff in his first solo interview since he was removed from office that he was in a bad state, but “most importantly” hopes people will understand the “anger” behind the event.

“I think the most important thing is the anger I want people to feel,” Padilla said in a rhythm with Ari Melber. “If this could be the question of the U.S. Senators dare to raise the Secretary of Homeland Security, then the same issues and demands we have, not just the information from last week or so Events in Los Angelesbut since the government began, imagine what would happen to anyone in the country. ”

He insisted that there was no “harsh” to Norm, and he only “raised his voice” and asked Norm a question. Padilla confirmed that he was handcuffed and detained, and was released after a few minutes and had a meeting with Noem.

Padilla argued that despite talking to Noem, he still didn’t get the answer to the question.

“You think she might have apologized for what happened and started the meeting. Of course not,” Padilla said.

In a statement Fox Newsthe White House attacked Padilla, interrupting the press conference’s “Theater Cad stunt”.

“Padilla rushed into the press conference without wearing a Senate pin or having previously determined herself to be safe, yelling at Noem,” said White House Deputy Secretary Abigail Jackson.

“Padilla doesn’t want the answer; he wants to pay attention. Padilla embarrasses himself and his constituents with this immature, dramatic stunt, but it shows that Democrats’ anger at Padilla is more angry than violent riots and attacks on Los Angeles law enforcement.”
