Last night, when the heat wave gave way to the popular breeze, Sézane Maidstone. The Parisian brand is co-hosted with Selby Drummond, and welcomes guests into a lush garden setting where sprays, conversations turn to fashion, charity and summer joy by the sea.

The latest collection of crowd wearing labels: a chocolate dot skirt, beaded sling, clear white floor length – traversing the simple elegance that defines Sezan. It is worth noting that the collection is the first collectible to benefit from the brand’s ongoing charity program, tomorrowfounded in 2018 by founder Morgane Sézalory. tomorrowSézane donated 100% of its profits from selected merchandise and donated 10% of its global online sales monthly to generate support for educational and cultural visits. Their current partner? The Borderless Library, a nonprofit organization, provides books, technology, legal aid and learning resources to underserved schools and communities.

“I got to know Sezan four years ago,” Drummond said. “A friend of mine is working on a mental health program for women who are pregnant or postpartum antidepressants. She told me, ‘This chic little Paris brand is taking all my expenses.’ That brand is Sezan.

Drummond later discovered that Sézane worked in a library without borders. “They started in France and sent books and resources to children in conflict areas. They reduced access barriers to libraries. I’m incredible that the B-Corp behind this retail success story is B-Corp, which has donated 10 million euros over the past seven years.”

This view was responded by Nina Safane, executive director of the library without borders. “Sézane makes our work possible,” she shared. “Their support promotes our largest U.S. initiative – allowing us to host information conferences, bring mobile libraries to schools, expand coaching programs and more.”

Dinner, served under string lamps, is made from a frame of blooming hydrangeas, including seasonal crumbs, carrots and handmade ravioli by chef Katie Lee Biegel. Guests include Georgia Fowler, Aurora James, Beanie Feldstein, Rickie de Sole and Jessica Sailer van Lith.

Drummond admits to the effort to assemble in the crowd in her toast Hampton: “But if there is a brand that can do it,” she said, “it’s a brand that has a different kind of difference. That’s Sezan.”
