At least 14 people died in the floods and landslides in South Korea in a few days, the country’s disaster management office said.
There are concerns that the death toll could rise as rescue efforts continue, with 12 people reportedly missing.
According to local media reports, nearly 10,000 people have evacuated their homes since the downpour began, while local media has temporarily lost power.
The rainfall is now largely disappearing in the worst southern and central regions, but more downpours are expected in the capital Seoul and northern regions.
Thousands of roads and buildings were damaged and flooded by flooding floods, with farmland damage and widespread deaths of livestock reported.
Most of the destruction was in the southern part of the country, with six people killed and seven missing in Sanchey County.
Casualties have also occurred in the northern mountainous areas near Seoul and other western and northern regions.
A severe landslide warning was issued in multiple regions across the country, and the government launched multi-agency recovery efforts on Sunday.
