So far, all evidence suggests that Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota was driving while he crashed into the Spanish highway in his car and he was probably speeding.
The 28-year-old Liverpool player was killed by his brother André Silva, 25, in a Lamborghini car in northwest of Zamora Province earlier last Thursday.
The Spanish Guardia Civil Police Force said the car apparently passed the A52 motorway near Palacios de Sanabria when it left the road and burst into flames.
“Everything also shows excessive speeds beyond the speed limit of the road (highway)” said Zamora’s local traffic police.
Police said they studied the marks left by one of the Lamborghini tires, “All tests conducted so far show that the driver of the crash was Diogo Jota.”
Experts report preparing for the courts for the accident, and it is understood that their investigation was made more complicated by the intensity of the fire, which almost completely destroyed the car.
The accident happened during Jota’s 11-day marriage to his long-time partner Rute Cardoso in Portugal. The couple has three children.
The brothers have been heading to the Spanish port in Santander so that Jota can return to Liverpool for pre-season training.
Their funeral was held on weekends in their hometown of Gondomar, near Porto.
It is reported that from the moment of the impact, tire traces can be seen about 100m (330 feet).
Although it was suggested that the asphalt on the road is unbalanced in the event of a crash, police told Spanish media that this is not a “black spot” of the accident and that the road should exceed the 120 km/h/h (75 mph) speed limit.
