Sci-fi stories about artificial intelligence lose that Rogue has existed since before computers, because you can argue that Frankenstein is a created intelligence, or even 1872’s corea satirical take on Starck-up aristocratic Victorian England. AI turning against its creators is its own subgenre of SCI-FI now, from the cliche Subservience in high-frow Ex Machina. Somewhere between the two Morgan A 2016 SCI-FI Thriller that failed to make much of an impression despite the established cast, but nine years later, is the top ten.
An overqualified cast
Morgan Begins like most films of the genre, with an outside expert arriving to see what the Technology Frankenstein A team of scientists has done and how it works best. This time, the expert is Lee Weathers (Kate Mara), who manages risk management for a billion dollar corporation, and the subject is Morgan (Anya Taylor-Joy), a biological machine that is much more powerful, and more powerful than a human. Ex Machina Plays with the genre by making the audience question whether the AV is actually a robot, while here, we get to know Morgan, and he is surrounded by a team of scientists who he considers his son.
Scientists increase the power of the star in the two leading ones, including Michelle YeohPaul Giamatti, Rose Leslie (Ygritte from Game of Thrones), Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook (you know him from Narcos), and Jennifer Jason Leigh. If you don’t recognize the names, you will recognize the faces, but despite all the Academy Awards between the cast, the plot remains murders you never see coming. Morgan It tried to add a twist to the tired formula, but it only serves to shake the rest of the movie, which is better than the more recent movies the audience is listening to.
From the flop to hit
It’s a testament to the talented ensemble and first-time director, Luke Scott, that Morgan could be considered a “gentleman six” in a sci-fi tiller. Scott had a lot of experience as a second-unit director before following this film, having worked with his father, Ridley Scott, on The Martian. For a film that takes place in one location, the younger Scott does a lot of it and can give a real sense of how big the complex is and where each character is for some good jump scare moments.
In a change from typical SCI-FI films, Morgan rated as low as Rotten tomatoes by the audience (30 percent) than critics (38 percent), owed in part to how it’s a great plot burn but also a slow burn. Taken from the experience of going to the theater, where it earned a measure of $ 8.8 million worldwide, the audience has now come to the deliberate pacing of the film. Throw a rock these days, and you’ll hit an AI rogue movie, including a take on Megan Fox Subservience . M3gan 2.0 on the way, but nothing can increase the amazing pedigree of Morganworth it for anyone’s taylor-complete pleasure.
