Republican member Tim Rudd re -proposed the bill at the 2025 Legislative Assembly. The bill was approved by the House of Representatives during the last legislature, but failed to be passed in the Senate.

“They still need to receive training. The reason is to try to find more resource officials in these rural areas, especially in this way to protect our children,” Lu Kewen told WTVC.

He said: “For students who serve as resource officials or only become part of school life, there is no more suitable for veterans as an example.”
