Teofimo Lopez downplayed the fifth round knockout round of WBO middleweight champion Brian Norman’s recent defeat of Jin Sasasi on June 19. Lopez pointed out that Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 kos) defeated an unknown fighter and said there was a reason he didn’t mention his name.

Norman Jr. Teofimo is thought to be too focused on fighting with the likes of 140-year-old Arnold Barboza, Steve Claggett and Jamaine Ortiz. It is a safe fight for him. Facing Norman Jr. will be a potential disaster for Lopez.
“Yes, but who are you against?” Teofimo Lopez said Fighthype It looked good when told Brian Norman Jr. was defeated by Jin Sasaki earlier on June 19. “Anyone can look good until you take it to the next level. So that’s why they’ve been talking about other fighters, not Teofimo. I wonder why.”
Is Little Norman too dangerous?
It was a bad fight for Teofimo because Norman Jr. had too much strength and resilience for him. We’ve seen Teo’s fight against Jamaine Ortiz, Sandor Martin, Steve Claggett and George Kambosos. Lopez was not doing well on pressure fighters. The guys he performs well are pure boxers like Arnold Barboza Jr. and Josh Taylor.
“I might go 147 or keep and keep my belt, at 140. I feel like I’m 140 and I’m becoming undisputed. No one beats (Josh) Taylor. He’s unbeaten. He’s unbeaten. He’s abandoned the belt, but he doesn’t throw it away, but he doesn’t lose it, he still has the straight line, and I still have the most important one. This is what I carry.
If Teofimo does raise to 147, it wouldn’t be a challenge to Brian Norman Jr. as his WBO middleweight belt. If anything, Teo would fight with someone like Ryan Garcia, or the champion of Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios.
The only way Teofimo raises to 147 is if he fights someone he has the confidence to beat. After he pulled out of negotiations, he fought Devin Haney, who showed he was hard to deal with.
140 No big battle
Unless Turki Alalshikh wants to fund the battle between Teofimo and Richardson Hitchins, there is no big fight at the age of 140. Teofimo is unlikely to agree to fight WBA champion Gary Antuanne Russell because he is a powerful high-pressure fighter. He was wrong to him.
