Written by Lamar Giles (Ruin Road), the story takes place at the end of the second season after the episode “Pabu.” Now that they work with Pirate Hunter Phee, the clones – hunter, Omega, Wrecker and Tech – are in a way to gather after the planet’s recent tsunami. This leads to them to run two different jobs close enough to each other: to steal a relic from auction to return it back to their people and ferry a pregnant couple during the race. Hunter wants to be sensitive and only do one job at a time, but that is not possible, and to further complicate things, there is an ISB agent for the couple who must be born now.
Giles told Polygon that he hopes the novel feels like “the feeling of an extended bonus episode, where our favorite characters have exciting moments that felt fresh and known.
