Last week, there was a heat wave New York Temperatures up to 100ºF. Shortly thereafter, I encountered a power outage on the block, which knocked down two of the three air conditioners in the apartment. Unfortunately timing tested my sanity. There was almost no escape heat and looking at my clothes never felt like a trivial matter. In my life, I can’t even dress up at all.

After settling in a very thin vintage mini skirt, I decided to go outside and walk the dog. When I saw something that everyone else around Brooklyn seemed to be wearing, I almost immediately regretted: a silk scarf tied to the top, like a top. While the dress is all stuck to my skin in various ways, the scarf I admire seems to float almost on the torso, slightly exposing the right amount of shoulders, back and arms for the ideal tan.
Scarf as a top is not a special new concept, but it reminds me of Pipe top Because we sometimes forget them and rely on vests and t-shirts. However, the scarf provides all the necessary coverage, while also being extremely breeze and loose. And, once you invest, you can wear it year-round even if the temperature is not as abrasive. You can tie it to an interesting accent as the top layer or tie it around the bag. You can style it on your neck or hips. I personally do everything, no matter the heat wave or the damaged air conditioner.
