As an ’80s kid and horror fiend, I have a particular passion for slasher films, the genre popularized by gory icons like Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. This genre reached its peak with the release of Wes Craven’s Yelling in 1996, and fans like me have been chasing the dragon ever since in hopes that another director might deliver a similar mix of humor, terror, and hemoglobin. Now, the most unexpected director has done just that, and fans are hoping to experience the best slasher ever Yelling can stream now GRATITUDE on Netflix.

In your view GRATITUDE on Netflixyou’ll discover a truly bonkers tale about a turkey-loving town still reeling from a Black Friday shopping stampede that left three people dead. When the same big brand store prepares to hold a similar sale next year, karma comes in the form of a killer wearing a truly terrifying mask after John Carver, the first governor of Plymouth Colony. While the murders are worse than your drunk uncle talking politics, a group of teenagers who survived the original stampede try to stay one step ahead of a killer whose revenge is a dish that is not served cold.
If you’re just looking GRATITUDE while scrolling through Netflix, you’d never know how amazingly eclectic the film’s cast is. The biggest name is Patrick Dempsey (best known for his performance in Grey’s Anatomy), who plays a sheriff trying to save the town from the most violent threat it has ever faced. Rounding out the cast are some screen veterans like Gina Gershon (best known for her performance in bound) and Rick Hoffman (best known for his performance in Samantha Who?) as well as relative newcomers like Addison Rae (best known as a popular influencer on social media platforms like TikTok).
Besides Dempsey, the other big name involved in this production is director Eli Roth, a horror veteran known for gorefests like Hostel. Compared to that franchise, the execution of GRATITUDE usually tamer, which makes this film easier for the average Netflix viewer. But Roth still knows how to crank the movie’s scares to its highest setting, as evidenced by a scene involving an oven that’s sure to leave you shivering in your bed while watching. – look at you.
A Hearty Awesome Meal
Fortunately, audiences weren’t intimidated by Roth’s efforts: they were GRATITUDE ended up on Netflix, it earned $46.6 million against a budget of $15 million. It was enough of a holiday box office to warrant a sequel, and Roth admits to that Appreciation 2 will be released later this year. Not bad for a bonkers franchise that started with a joke trailer Roth cut for the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino horror classic Grindhouse.
Oddly enough, GRATITUDE was able to attract critics, which is quite rare when it comes to a slasher. on rotten tomatoesthis thick slice of turkey-inspired terror has an 84 percent critical rating. Overall, critics have praised the film for its unique blend of humor and horror and how it combines creative kills with scenes and dialogues that are sure to make you laugh.
When I finally looked GRATITUDE on Netflix, I was surprised to discover that the critics weren’t exaggerating…this is the best slasher ever Yellingwhich is good because scene after scene is biting Wes Craven’s style. Fortunately, Eli Roth was able to mix Yelling-as sensitive to his own trademark brand of humor and gory violence. On top of its quality as a horror movie, GRATITUDE is Roth at his best: the film softens the excesses of his Hostel films while also sharpening the broad humor evident in his debut film Cabin Feverwhich makes it a crowdpleaser infinitely easier than, say, The Green Inferno.
