The employee of the former escort was arrested for helping her boyfriend escape Orleans prison

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced the arrest of a former Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office (OPSO) employee, who is allegedly the girlfriend of still-fled Derrick Groves.

Muriel announces In a press release, Darriana Burton, 28, was arrested on Monday after allegedly helping Derrick Groves escape the facility. Officials believe Burton is Groves’ girlfriend.

Burton’s arrest warrant was issued on May 27, responsible for conspiring to escape simply.

She was arrested by Marshalls Service, who positioned her in New Orleans on Monday. The arrest affidavit states that the woman allegedly coordinated contacts between Groves and individuals outside the prison and conveyed information related to the escape.

The Murray’s office said officials confirmed the couple had been in a “again, infeasible relationship” for three years and are believed to be dating.

Burton is Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office According to Murrill, from August 2022 to March 2023. Officials said she was arrested and charged in 2023 for allegedly taking contraband to jail and malfeasance, but the charges were rejected by the Orleans Diocese District Attorney’s Office.
