Vladimir Putin said that Iran passed a Russian offer for working in air defense and anti-air systems were not covered among the strategic partnership Moscow and Tehran signed in January.
Putin, Russia’s president, said in a television interview late Wednesday that the agreement did not cover the defense.
“We once proposed to our Iranian friends to work on anti-air systems, but our partners showed no great interest,” he said.
“As far as individual deliveries are concerned, we naturally did them at the time, but this has nothing to do with the crisis today,” added Putin without indicating when the offer and the past took place.
