When the first global AI summit was organized 15 months ago by the British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the pursuit of technological and economic advantage concentrated. On his first foreign trip as a US Vice President, JD Vance signaled that the United States put the brakes out and put his foot on the floor to develop the AI. The USA and Great Britain, has not registered for a final explanation in which the AI should be “inclusive, transparent, ethical and safe”. A new AI desert arms have started, with the United States and China competing for dominance and Europe is trying to get its role.
The Trump government, said Vance, wanted to fix the US leadership and ensure that the “most powerful AI systems in the USA are built with American-designed and manufactured chips”. In a jibe at Europe’s legislate first approach, he said that regulatory regimes had to “promote the creation of AI technology instead of stranging them”. The United States would not tolerate foreign governments to “set the screws for US companies”. Without naming China, Vance also warned of the signing of AI degrees with an “authoritarian master”.
The Vice President spoke days after the director of the US AI security institute had resigned and increased uncertainty about his future. Donald Trump has also asked President Joe Bidens 2023 Executive Order to ask the TOP -KI companies to exchange information about the US government. The new US attitude, says an academic, is an “180-degree turn” by Bidens.
This strategic shift fell with a tendency of the Balance of the AI power. The French President Emmanuel Macron, who organized the conference, spoke in favor of open KI platforms, criticized closed US models and announced major investments in the AI infrastructure in France. Although the EU rules may not suffocate as the claims of the US Vice Presidents, Europe has different obstacles-a lack of “flash scaling” capital to build up start-ups quickly.
Great Britain has denied that his own puzzling failure – as the organizer of the first AI Page with the Trump White House. The government insists that the declaration did not provide enough “practical clarity” for the global AI government or answered “more difficult questions” for national security.
Whatever applies, the case for the collaborative government of the new technology in particular, the goal of intelligence on human level is powerful in the face of their enormous potential advantages and risks. Nobody wants their development to be strangled by excessive regulation, or an authoritarian China becomes dominant. But America’s obvious willingness to disassemble guardrails that have been set up is a courageous, potentially ruthless bet that you can control this groundbreaking technology without something going on the way.
