Cyberattack on Columbia University compromised the personal information of nearly 870,000 individuals, including students, candidates, and possibly staff, Bloomberg reports. The stolen data includes contact information, academic records, financial assistance details and some health and insurance information, according to project letters, intended for victims obtained from the newsroom.
The break, which dates from mid -May was only publicly recognized after Columbia presented reports with state lawyers in California and Maine. University -official previously claimed that the perpetrator was politically motivated. The school claims that it has implemented new securities and continues to notify affected individuals.
