Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is once again the busiest airport in the world.
According to a report by the Airport Commission International World, the airport is the largest hub of Delta Airlines, handling more than 108 million passengers in 2024.
However, this is still 2% less than the airports processed in 2019.
The ranking shows that last year, the number of passengers at the world’s second-ku airport (Dubai International Airport) rose nearly 7% from pre-pandemic levels.
The airport is also in a separate list that analyzes airports that deal with the most international passengers. In 2024, approximately 92.3 million passengers (all international) passed through the gate.
The report said that in 2024, global passenger flow reached a record high, with approximately 9.4 billion people flying in planes. It said that this is about 8.4% higher than in 2023 and 2.7% higher than in 2019.

The United States has six airports in the top 20 list. Since the pandemic, China’s three airports – Shanghai (PVG), Guangzhou (CAN) and Beijing (PEK) (PEK) have returned to the top 20.
Despite ranking among the busiest airports in the world, the main airports in the seven cities have not seen the number of former passengers returning, including Atlanta (-2.2%), Chicago (-5.4%), Los Angeles (-13%), Paris (-7.7%), Singapore (-0.9%), (-0.9%), (-0.9%), (-0.9%), Beijing (-32.6%), Amsterd, -6.8%. (-4.9%).
Airport Commission International Airport International Airport Commission said that despite industry challenges related to economic uncertainty, geopolitical space closures and delays in aircraft manufacturing, global passenger traffic will grow to 9.9 billion by 2025.
