Tom Hanks He pays tribute to Jim Lovell, the legendary astronaut portrayed in the movie Apollo 13.
In an emotional tribute to Instagram, Hanks remembers Lovel as a truly visionary person. “Some people dare to dream and lead others to places we won’t go alone,” the actor wrote. “Jim Lovell has been in space for a long time, and people who have been longer than anyone else on our planet are that kind of people.”

Hanks continued: “Many of his sailings on Earth and so close to the moon were not caused by wealth or celebrities, but by the challenge such as this was caused by the course of living, who worked harder than Jim Lovell.”
When he reflects on the timing of Lovel’s death, Hanks added: “On this night Full MoonHe continues to move forward-to reach heaven, universe and stars. God speeds up your pace, Jim Lovell on the next voyage. ”

Lovell was part of three crew members in 1970 Apollo 13 Mission. It aims to be the third mission of the moon.

Ron Howard, director of “Apollo 13”, also honored Lovell, whose story helped new audiences in the beloved film.
Howard shared a heartfelt tribute, which included images and editing from the film, as well as side-by-side photos, comparing real-life astronauts with Hanks’ portrayals.
In his postHoward reflects Lovell’s outstanding career and his influence on the world and film, wrote: “Simply knowing Jim is a huge honor. His combination of intelligence, courage and fulfillment of his duties makes him one of the most outstanding individuals I have ever seen.”

Howard stressed that his presence during the production of “Apollo 13” was huge. “His support for our filmmaking efforts inspired authenticity and elevated our process in many ways.”
He concluded: “Thank you, sir, for serving our country and humanity.”
Lovell’s family shared his statement of his death Friday.

“We are proud of his amazing life and career achievements, which he emphasized in the legendary leadership talent in groundbreaking human space flight,” the family statement continued. “But, for all of us, he is the leader of Dad, Grandpa and our family. Most importantly, he is our hero. We will miss his unshakable optimism, his sense of humor and the way he makes each of us feel we can do it impossible. He is indeed one.”
