Trump says he could consider to lock the World Health Organization of Reuters again

Las Vegas (Reuters) -President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he could consider to join the World Health Organization, days after the arrangement of a US exit from the global health authority about what he was a abuse of the Covid -19 -Pandemy and others international health crises.

“Maybe we would think about doing it again, I don’t know. Maybe we would do it. You would have to clean it up,” said Trump at a rally in Las Vegas.

The United States is scheduled to leave the WHO on January 22, 2026. Trump announced the move on Monday after being sworn in in the White House for a second term.

The United States is far from the largest financial supporter of the WHO and contribute around 18% of total financing. The last two-year budget of the WHO for 2024-2025 was $ 6.8 billion.

Trump told the crowd in Las Vegas that he was unhappy that the United States paid more to the WHO than China, which has a much larger population.

He added that he would ask Saudi Arabia to invest an investment of around 1 trillion US dollar in the United States compared to 600 billion US dollars that the Saudis committed.

The Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman said Trump last week that the kingdom wanted to bring in 600 billion US dollars in extended investments and trade in the USA over the next four years.
