Donald Trump said that he would impose 25 percent tariffs for imports of goods from Japan and South Korea, in an announcement that brought us shares.
The President said on Monday that the new taxes in both countries would come into force on August 1st. Trump had sworn to announce the tariffs for dozens of other trading partners in the coming days.
Trump said in letters that were published on his social platform of truth that the deficit of the US goods trade with both countries was a “great threat to our economy and our national security”.
After the announcement, the S&P 500 fell to session lepings and let it reduce about 0.8 percent.
