President Donald Trump warned on Saturday that if Elon Musk provides funding for Democratic candidates, it would have “serious consequences” for Elon Musk. The president spoke in a telephone interview with NBC News.
“If he does this, he will have to pay the consequences for it,” Trump told NBC News. However, according to the media, Trump did not elaborate on what the consequences were.
The president also told the media that he had no interest in repairs’ relationship with Tesla’s founder and CEO. When asked if he thinks his relationship with Musk ended, Trump reportedly told NBC News: “I think so.” Trump also obviously “unintentionally” talked to Musk, which is what he told Fox News chief political host Bret Baier.
Trump and Musk have been having a fierce dispute, and it escalated quickly within a few days. Spit started with Musk criticizing the “Big Beautiful Act” that Trump supported at the end of the administration.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t stand it anymore. This huge, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.
Musk later had two explosive posts on X, and both have now been deleted. Musk accused Trump of involving files related to late-stage sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in one of them. He then agreed to call on Trump to impeach each post and suggested Vice President JD Vance take charge.
In an article criticizing the bill, Musk argued that the bill “more than defeating all the costs that the governor’s team has obtained with huge personal costs and risks.”
