How did you get started with clothing design and start this career?
I accidentally got caught in it. I major in fashion products. I grew up in Georgia, so I attended Southern Georgia University.
My boyfriend took me to prepare. He is a PA in a movie shot in Savannah. I think, Oh my god, this is amazing.
Then I saw Julie Weiss’s costume designer, a legend in our business. I didn’t even know that clothing design is something you can do.
That was when I told my mom, “Do you know anything? I don’t think I’m going to work in a limited company, and even if the limited people are great, I’m going to go to Los Angeles to try to be a fashion designer.”
I moved to Los Angeles for $500 and one phone number was Aggie Rogers, who is family and friend. She introduced me to Hope Hannifin, who was her assistant to her last movie, Hope’s first movie.
So, this is my first movie, it is Hope’s first movie, so we just jumped together.
Since then, you’ve obviously spent a lot of careers on some very interesting projects in the superhero genre, like Marvel’s Shield agent and She’s green For Disney+. I would love to know what attracted these types of worlds from a clothing design perspective.
It’s about world building and I really like it. Even in my assistant design era, when I worked with fashion designers like Ellen Mirojnick, Michael Kaplan and Betsy Heimann and Marlene Stewart, they were always attracted to world construction projects. I learned a lot of fun from everyone.
When I started designing, I definitely did find myself in this sci-fi alley, I can’t lie, I really love it.
Then start building the world, like The change in carbonthis is an amazing design experience.
One thing I’ve always loved about TV is that it can certainly keep you on your toes, especially on shows like this Shield agentwhere do you play 22 episodes each season. Every eight days is a new episode.
When you shoot another episode, you are preparing for one episode. It turns into this crazy hamster wheel, which teaches you how to transfer and transfer a dime, how to move forward instead of doubting yourself and believing in what you are doing.
Can you tell me how you participate Our last one?
I was a big fan of the show before I even got a call for an interview. A little like you, I never like video games. I know the show. Definitely my radar, but I just returned to a show from Australia and my jet lag was the worst, so I was up all night. I just sat all season at once, and it was incredible. Especially the beauty of Joel and Ellie’s relationship and Joel and Ellie’s relationship, I was very shocked. When I got the call, I just jumped up.
What’s more interesting about Season 2 is that it was five years later, so I’m not necessarily associated with what happened in Season 1.
This is a whole new world we are going to see, and Ellie is now 19 years old. Now, Ellie is a 19-year-old woman, not a 14-year-old child. Even Joel. We have subtle changes with Joel, like stuffing a shirt in, more as simple as his brother, because he is also a pillar of the community.
We really have to meet Jackson this season and really get into Jackson and meet that community. This is what attracts me.
