Speaking to io9 in Los -English this week, Gunn explained that other superheroes are in Superman As a way to illustrate just how powerful Superman is against everyone else. “We create a universe,” Gunn said. “So I wanted Superman to be the most powerful metahuman on Earth, but I didn’t want him to be so strong that, as, Guy Gardner doesn’t matter. I think it’s important to set up that he has contemporaries who are also quite nasty.”
Gunn explained that even evaluating how powerful Superman will be some discussion, especially because those powers have so long been. “Over the years, there have been all kinds of various versions of Superman in his power levels,” Gunn said. “From the beginning, when he couldn’t fly, he would shoot beams from his eyes. He could hit through walls a few times in the 80’s. In the 70’s, he could prick a planet half. The times in the 50s, when he could make a few versions of himself. Spoiler Alert, Gunn’s Superman does not clone, nor does many tiny clones of himself, but he is very strong, very capable, and very tested by what happens in the film. Fortunately, he is not the only superhero around.
