“Some of you asked about the situation involving Wyndham Clark and the steps taken to respond to his recent actions,” Lynch’s letter said. “After multiple discussions with the USGA and OCC boards, it has been decided not to allow Mr. Clark to proceed on the OCC property anymore.
“The decision will remain in effect unless the board formally reconsidered and approved.”
The letter also states that if Clark pays the price for the damage he causes, he can again compete in Oakmont, make a “meaningful contribution” to the charity chosen by the OCC board, and receive counseling and/or anger management therapy.

Clark said he had seen the requirements and had reached out to them.
“Obviously, paying damages is effortless. It’s given,” Clark said. “And then, obviously, all the apology, I want to give back to the community because I was injured in a good place in Pittsburgh, so I wanted to do everything possible to show them what happened without reflecting who I am and not going to happen again.”
Meanwhile, Clark did say he “hopefully it will be private” instead of seeing a letter sent to all Oakmont members.
It will take some time until Oakmont hosts the major again, as it plans to become home to the 2033 U.S. Open. It will also be the last year for Clark to get exempted 10 years after winning the game at Los Angeles Country Club in 2023.
