In Zuhair Murad’s world, wealth is always in the season. Even so, the designers took it one step through the resort, from wearing piercing style decor and flashing pearls to blinking crescent embroidery and straightforward Maharaja Grandeur.
Designers estimate that focusing on the complexity of the process is the best strategy to keep a good resonance in the studio. And, as any jewelry lover can prove, this decoration can also be armored.
Here, Murad draws inspiration from the Orientalist trends a century ago, sorting colors, crystals, embroidery and artificial pearls into suffocators, stir-fryes, gadgets and brooches, or inserting them directly into a skirt. Day wear is also fair game: the blazer may come with a scarf with perforations – pear, charm, crystal, the brand’s sunshine logo – extends the length of its edge; these elements can also be found on a relaxing jumpsuit with a panel scarf designed to “make the night of wearing it.”
Although many of the shapes here are familiar, the designers have also tried some new ones, such as balloon pants running around the ankles, or Shandong silk tops with straps, seed pearls and gradient floral embroidery.
Oyster beige, baby’s breath pink or black constraint palettes are pierced here and there with sage green or canary yellow, for example, wearing a relatively spare open dress. But for the most part, the series is about jewelry related to Yat. Wearing a dress, a jewel-like body harness runs from the screw cake to the hips, motion is still. A bunch of gems appeared on the clear mesh tights, and in some very specific cases, you can imagine taking a risk in the spacious daylight, under the jacket, but blending in on your own at night.
Murad does know when to back down. For example, a pink dress stands out for its simplicity, but is just a fan polish. The asymmetrical lace placement brings pure tying that otherwise binds it. Several Georgeg’s dresses with contrasting lace inlays, while another number in the Italian-style print provides room for more romance.
New accessories include brooches designed to be worn on jacket lapels as an accent on a suspender shirt or Jersey goddess gown. A resort means ready-to-wear, but the idea of fashion is always infused – what is fashion but a dream space? In an uncertain world, it is as good as anyone.
